The creeper explosion that killed me and made me lose my stuff

I just had made a new redstone creeper spawner with dispensers and it had rapid spawning because of a new 1.7.2 glitch where you can make a fast circle of redstone repeaters light up and attatch it to a redstone item so that item is rapidly used. Anyway a whole army of creepers spawned and I only killed two before I died and lost my stuff.

The creepers even blew up my invention. By the time I found the creepers all my stuff despawned. I was so angry because I just came out of a cave with a lot of stone, diamonds, iron, gold, redstone, and emeralds.

Tip: Be far away when spawning a creeper army.
